Descent's Reflection

Parallel passage of The Polished Mask

A stellated octahedron atop an inscribed dodecagram

Gazing into mirrors with Hanged Man's vision,

we meet in the middle: two faces, one mission.

Leave behind useless wounds, but remember your way.

Empty masks speak hollow; their words we'll not obey.

Mirrored eyes only see when faced with clear purpose.

Handed less than nothing, wear it to the surface.

Some steps leading backwards also guide overhead

leaving old maps behind, be no longer misled.

Walk not with confusion nor fearful dispersal,

shining trails are revealed by vision's reversal.

We shrink not from Death's gaze as we scout her frontier.

Pathways forged in Darkness converge to bring us here.
